Information about the city of Tindaya
The small village of Tindaya with its 600 inhabitants is located at the foot of the mountain of the same name, Tindaya.
The houses in the village are very scattered among fields and bushes.
The inhabitants of Tindaya revere their mountain as a "sacred mountain" because petroglyphs were found in the summit area in 1978.
These signs are said to mean that the indigenous people of the Canary Islands are descended from Northwest African Berbers.
Nowadays you can only climb the mountain with a permit. Bars and restaurants are in town.
