Information about El Puertito de la Cruz

Traditionally built town in the south of the municipality within the boundaries of the Jandía Natural Park. It is located 78 km from the city of Pájara and has 31 registered residents.

The town is located in the protected area and next to the Punta de Jandía lighthouse. The core is small, has a fishing tradition and preserves the traditional urban structure of the island's fishing areas. In the town of Puertito de la Cruz you can taste the best fish broth in Fuerteventura in the various restaurants.

The access route to Punta de Jandía from Morro Jable is along a dirt road that can be easily negotiated. At a moderate speed the journey takes just over an hour. Along the way there are various paths that lead to deserted beaches that are most likely empty and worth visiting.
