Lajares
The town of Lajares with its approximately 1,300 inhabitants is located approximately in the middle of the two holiday resorts of Corralejo and El Cotillo in the north of Fuerteventura. From Puerto del Rosario you first have to take the FV-10 towards La Oliva and then towards El Cotillo.

Even from a distance you can see the two well-preserved windmills (called Molino and Molina) as you approach the village. A lot of grain used to be grown there. Lajares is also very interesting because of its arts and crafts school, the “Escuela de Artesanía Canaria”. In 1950 the school opened, where many women sold their embroidery, basketry or straw hats.
