Information about La Oliva

The well-maintained, clean-looking town of La Oliva, with its approximately 1,200 inhabitants, is surrounded by large, beautiful olive trees, hence its name. History

La Oliva originated in the 17th century amidst numerous olive trees. In 1708, it became an important military base for a commander-in-chief who settled there. From 1835 to 1860, the town served as the capital of Fuerteventura.
